4 large potatoes, peeled and diced

4 large carrots, peeled and sliced

1 large onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons butter

Salt and pepper, to taste


Boil Potatoes and Carrots:

In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add the diced potatoes and sliced carrots. Cook until both are fork-tender.

Sauté Onion and Garlic:

In a separate pan, melt butter over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion is translucent and fragrant.

Mash and Mix:

Drain the potatoes and carrots. Mash them together in the pot. Add the sautéed onion and garlic mixture. Mix well.


Season the hutspot with salt and pepper to taste. Adjust the seasoning as needed.

Keep Warm:

Cover the pot and keep the hutspot warm on low heat while preparing the meatballs.

1 lb ground beef (Karls Meats)

1 onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup milk

1 egg

Salt and pepper, to taste. Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)


Prepare Meatball Mixture:

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, milk, and the egg. Season with salt and pepper.

Shape Meatballs:

With clean hands, gently shape the mixture into meatballs of your desired size.

Cook Meatballs:

In a pan over medium heat, add a bit of oil. Once hot, add the meatballs and brown on all sides. Cook until the meatballs are cooked through.
