Ingredients:

4 large potatoes, peeled and diced

4 large carrots, peeled and sliced

1 large onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons butter


Salt and pepper, to taste


Instructions:


Boil Potatoes and Carrots:

In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add the diced potatoes and sliced carrots. Cook until both are fork-tender.


SautĂŠ Onion and Garlic:

In a separate pan, melt butter over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and minced garlic. SautĂŠ until the onion is translucent and fragrant.


Mash and Mix:

Drain the potatoes and carrots. Mash them together in the pot. Add the sautĂŠed onion and garlic mixture. Mix well.


Season:

Season the hutspot with salt and pepper to taste. Adjust the seasoning as needed.


Keep Warm:

Cover the pot and keep the hutspot warm on low heat while preparing the meatballs.


Dutch Meatballs (Gehaktballen):


Ingredients:


1 lb ground beef (Karls Meats)

1 onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup milk

1 egg


Salt and pepper, to taste. Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)


Instructions:


Prepare Meatball Mixture:

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, milk, and the egg. Season with salt and pepper.


Shape Meatballs:

With clean hands, gently shape the mixture into meatballs of your desired size.


Cook Meatballs:

In a pan over medium heat, add a bit of oil. Once hot, add the meatballs and brown on all sides. Cook until the meatballs are cooked through.


Serve:
